#4: 3D Printer

For the manufacturing of the coil system, one of the most rational solutions is plastic 3D printing, which makes it possible to produce not only fine components but also complex shapes with a sufficiently high level of precision.

For this purpose, the following 3D printer model was purchased: Creality Ender 3 S1.

(In this price range, we recommend purchasing the Creality Ender 3 S1 PRO version. In short, in the standard version the insert inside the extruder throat is made of plastic, which can melt over time and requires replacement. In the PRO version, the throat is entirely metal, eliminating this issue. More on this later … ヅ)

Various types of filament were also purchased for the printer, including PLA, PETG, as well as several very low-temperature melting plastics.
